Guy McVey – Instructor
Guy Mcvey has been immersed in martial arts since age 10. Training in ITF Taekwon Do allowed Guy to grow as a person, while developing skills that would define him later in life.
Teaching and passing on techniques as well as mentoring was something always fostered in Guy. From a very early age, Guy was instructing class as a way to give back. He went on to earn a second black belt later under the WTF Taekwon Do association. Competition brought out the best over the years, seeing Guy earns numerous medals, including Western Canadian sparring and forms champion two years running.
Guy has studied Muay Thai Kick Boxing, Jiu Jitsu and Shotokan Karate over the years rounding him as a martial artist. “I firmly believe that no one style is going to create a complete martial arts individual” comments Guy when talking about the dojang system. “dojang offers a very unique and very balanced approach to these arts, perhaps the most exciting I have been a part of!”
Guy is now the head instructor and owner for Marpole dojang and is interested to meet you and learn more about your goals and desires so that he can make dojang your place “to learn the way”.
